About us

Hello, I'm Sandra. I'm an eighteen-year-old college student from Holland with a passion for science. After an popular-scientific article I wrote for advanced physics classes I followed in highschool got published, I decided that I wanted to write more of this kind of articles, and that's this blog.

I'm currently studying physics and astronomy, so I mostly write about those two topics. However, I'll also occasionally write about biology. In highschool, I competed in the finales of the Dutch National Astronomy Olympiad (http://www.sterrenkundeolympiade.nl/index.php), the National Maths Olympiad (http://www.wiskundeolympiade.nl/) and the National Linguisics Olympiad and the National Biology Olympiad. I've also competed in other olympiads (chemistry, physics) on a lower level, so I pretend to know a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff.

At ThiWeDi HQ (do we have that? Maybe...) my roles are that of writer, editor and general boss person. That means I write about one post a week and yell at the others if they don't meet their deadlines. And I give them (digital) cookies).

Hello, I’m David. I’m an eighteen-year-old student from Canada who loves science. I go to the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta and I am currently studying Kinesiology.

I am curious about the world and I love to learn more about where I live whether it be my city, country, planet, galaxy or universe for that matter. (I think I would also be willing to learn about alternate universes if we ever get there. Also, if they exist...)
At the moment I don’t have any goals to reach in my life when it comes to jobs. I don’t know what I want to become when I get older. I assume that’ll come with time.
I also assume a longer bio will come with time, but for now, that’s all about me.

At ThiWeDi HQ (yes Sandra, I believe we can in fact call it that) my roles are that of writer, tech and second in command. This means that I (try to) write one article per week, I help the team with any technological issues they may have and I also deal with any money that we receive from the ads we place on this website.

Hey, I'm Adrien. I'm a seventeen-year-old uni student from the States, and I'm studying Chemical Engineering. Unsurprisingly [seeing as how I am part of the team for this blog], I also enjoy science.

As can be expected from my choice of field, I an especially interested in Chemistry, but I find all facets of science from Biology to Artificial Intelligence to Astronomy fascinating. I also love reading about subjects other than science; whether it's linguistics, contemporary literature, languages, economics, psychology, history, art, or basically anything else, I'm probably interested. I just really love learning about everything [literally].

At the moment, I'm still trying to figure out what I'd like to do with myself; I'm just trying to make each stroke better than the last. [I am also a rower, so I take it upon myself to use boat metaphors as often as is physically possible].

At ThiWeDi HQ [blame Sandra and Dave for the name], I'm primarily an editor, as well as the guy who chooses the topics that we write about each week and the guy who manages our Twitter. If you have any questions, I will probably be the person you speak with. :)

Hi, I'm Ceri. I'm a 16-year-old high school student who plans to be an astrophysicist. I'm most likely going to take physics as my college course (yes, there is no astronomy course where I am. Yes, it sucks. I have plans.) and I'm also a fellow science nerd, though according to my teachers I'm not very good at it.

My favorite topics to talk about are astronomy, quantum mechanics, and time/space theories, but I can write about any topic because learning is awesome. I like research regardless of what I'm searching because I believe even the smallest piece of knowledge has some value. Unfortunately, I'm not as good at remembering as I am at researching, so I lose trivia games all the time. Oh well.

I like research in general, but my favorites are in the field of astronomy, sociology, psychology, architecture, engineering, literature, and alternative energy. The last one is because I have a bad habit of looking at things and wondering if they would be good as a fuel source - my uncle works at a power plant, so the idea of making energy is ingrained in me (I mean that technically isn't possible and everything including us is energy, but that's beside the point). I also like listening to life stories and people talking about their passion/s.

At ThiWeDi HQ (tip: google it without spaces or else a Katy Perry song comes up) I'm a writer and editor. I'm the one who helps write articles every week, and sometimes edit my colleagues' work. If you have any complaints on the grammar or lack of pictures...go to Adrien ;)
